TUSCALOOSA, Ala.— New Alabama basketball coach Anthony Grant will receive a seven-year deal worth nearly $2 million annually. The university released details of the contract Thursday that shows Grant will make $1.8 million a year. The deal must be approved by the Board of Trustees’ Compensation committee. Alabama hired its first Black head coach of the men’s basketball team last month. Grant was head coach at Virginia Commonwealth the last three years and spent 12 seasons as an assistant under Billy Donovan at Marshall and Florida.
