AGB Security surprises employee Shawnece Shannon with check for December bills!

AGB, the nation’s largest security company, makes good on promise to give back in tearful ceremony

AGB Innovative Security Solutions, through its Always Giving Back Foundation, recently surprised five-year employee Shawnece Shannon with a check covering her December bills as a reward for her dedication and commitment to her job and family.

“Shawnece is a treasured employee, an endearing caregiver to her extended family and an overall outstanding human being,” said Dr. Denitra Griffin, co-owner and executive vice president of AGB. “She is a true blend of strength and kindness, and it is our pleasure to present this well-earned gift right before the holidays.”

Shannon works as a security guard at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum and also trains and mentors new officers. She shocked her employers and colleagues last year when she refused to leave her shift, while suffering a stroke, until another guard was put in place.

AGB Founders John and Dr. Denitra Griffin presented the $1,500 check to Shannon during their annual Always Giving Back Foundation fundraiser, which provides scholarships to underserved youths and assists families in need with monetary gifts and food items.

The event took place in the company’s new headquarters at 7545 South Western Avenue, located in Chicago’s Auburn Gresham community.

With more than 750 employees, AGB Security is the largest African American-owned security company in the nation.
