Jamie Foxx was seen in public for the first time since his mysterious hospitalization.

The actor was spotted waving to people from a boat on the Chicago River on Sunday afternoon, TMZ reported

Video footage showed Foxx cheerfully greeting fans as he reportedly recovers in the Chicagoland area.

Since Foxx’s hospitalization for a medical complication in April, much was made of his health.

In the immediate aftermath, daughter Corinne Foxx acknowledged the gravity of the situation, stating, “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

After weeks of silence, Foxx also issued a public statement to fans: “Appreciate all the love. Feeling blessed.”

Little is known about the medical complication that left the Academy Award-winning actor in the hospital.

Foxx’s public appearance should hearten fans who assumed the worst concerning his health.
