TMH Behavioral Services celebrated a decade of impact on Saturday evening, hosting its “Shades of Blue & Kicks” anniversary event at Little Black Pearl Art and Design Academy in Kenwood.

The evening wasn’t just a celebration—it was a call to action. Supporters gathered to help raise $30,000 for TMH MANCAVE, the nonprofit arm of TMH dedicated to supporting the mental health needs of Black men and boys. The funds will help sustain programs that create spaces for men and boys to heal, connect, and grow stronger together.

TMH MANCAVE offers a range of free programs, including:

  • Boxing and Mental Health Workshops for boys

  • Dad Brotherhood Network Group (virtual and in-person)

  • Community events addressing gun violence, fatherhood, and healthy relationships

“We are passionate about helping others overcome obstacles and achieve lasting transformation through our culturally relevant mental health services,” said TMH founder, President, and CEO Tytannie Harris, LCSW.

Since opening its doors, TMH Behavioral Services has become a cornerstone for under-resourced communities across Chicago. Its approach blends traditional mental health care with Healing Centered Engagement, a model that recognizes the role of culture, spirituality, and community in healing. Services include sound therapy, healing circles, yoga, mindfulness, and meditation.

TMH’s work extends well beyond the therapist’s office. The organization hosts workshops aimed at creating safe spaces for honest conversations about mental health in the Black community. These gatherings tackle challenges such as grief, anxiety, relationships, and identity while offering tools for resilience and self-care.

Offerings include:

  • Healing Circles

  • Mother-Daughter Workshops

  • New Moms Workshops

  • Grief Support Groups

  • Parenting Workshops

  • Senior Day Workshops

  • Teen Talk Workshops focused on social and emotional growth for adolescent girls

TMH also organizes an annual “Spring Into Wellness” community fair, connecting families to local resources, healthy food options, and wellness activities.

Saturday’s Shades of Blue event honored not just the journey TMH has traveled but the future it continues to build. For Harris and the team at TMH, healing is not just personal—it’s collective, rooted in community and fueled by hope.
