February 15 will mark the 8th anniversary of The TRiiBE, an award-winning independent news outlet reshaping the narrative of Black Chicago in pursuit of truth and liberation. To celebrate, The TRiiBE is launching its membership campaign, “8 Years & 8 Reasons to Join The TRiiBE.”
Beginning Sunday, Feb. 15, The TRiiBE will share eight (8) videos, each giving a glimpse into the newsroom and detailing reasons why supporters should become a member of its RESHAPE newsletter. RESHAPE members are privy to insider knowledge into The TRiiBE’s editorial philosophy and original reporting.
Bold, community-centered journalism requires the support of the people. Every person who becomes a RESHAPE member is making sure that this Black-owned newsroom can continue to provide free and accessible journalism to the communities that need it most.
Other ways to support The TRiiBE include purchasing the history edition of The TRiiBE Guide, buying TRiiBE merch, or tipping The TRiiBE through Cash App ($thetriibechi).
“Becoming a member of The TRiiBE means backing an independent, Black women-led newsroom. With growing efforts to silence newsrooms like ours, we need your support more than ever to expand our fearless journalism and community outreach.”
— Nadia Harrald, Audience and Marketing Manager for The TRiiBE
Since launching in 2017, the Black women-owned newsroom has produced thousands of original news articles that have reached millions of people across the country — and even around the world. With the support of philanthropy, advertising and newsletter subscribers, The TRiiBE is now a newsroom of seven team members fiercely dedicated to shedding light on racism and systemic harms while also uplifting the beauty of Black resistance, creativity and art.
