The “next man up” Bulls are back….at least for a night. No Jimmy Butler, no Nikola Mirotic, and no D.Rose due to “right hamstring tendinitis”, not to mention Pau Gasol being slowed by the flu, left the Bulls without much firepower against a hot Washington Wizards squad (3-1 since the All-Star break coming into this game).

But it was the “un-usual” suspects that got the job done for the Bulls.

Tony Snell showed that he still has a pulse going 4/5 from three on the way to sixteen points, while Taj Gibson and E’Twaun Moore both poured in seventeen points in a 109-104 win over the Wizards, the Bulls 3rd straight.

Pau Gasol came up just one assist shy of a triple double in his “flu game” with 10pts/15rebs/9a and Doug McDermott continued his impressive play with another 14 points highlighted by two monster dunks, one that put Markeiff Morris on a poster, that put an explanation point on this win. And quietly, Mike Dunleavy Jr. is finding his rhythm…he finished with fourteen points.

With the win, the Bulls are 3-1 since the All-Star break and move into the 6th spot in the east. They hit the road for a road-home back-to-back in Atlanta vs the Hawks Friday night, then back home to face Damian Lilliard and the Portland Trailblazers on Saturday.
