NEW YORK — Eyebrows were certainly raised when the two media and movie titans, Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry, joined forces to produce original programming for the fledgling — and at that time, struggling — OWN Network.
No one is looking sideways anymore. If anything, fans can’t devour enough of the original shows that only air on the OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) network.
In commemoration, and celebration, of the success of two of the hit shows that Perry has proffered for Winfrey (“For Better or Worse” is the other), the two envied entities hosted a press luncheon at the Eventi Hotel in Manhattan to celebrate the new seasons of their hit series “The Haves and the Have Nots” and “Love Thy Neighbor.”
Prolific show creator Perry along with cast members John Schneider, Angela Robinson, Palmer Williams, Jr and Patrice Lovely were in attendance to greet the 75-plus guests and participate in a press conference-style Q&A.
