PISTONS 147 BULLS 144 in 4OT Game

Jimmy Butler scored a career high 43 points in a Bulls 147-144 quadruple OT loss to the Detroit Pistons. The loss snapped the Bulls 4 game win streak as they hop on a midnight flight and head to New York to face the Knicks in less than 24 hours. Derrick Rose had a season high 34 pts with 8 rebs and 5 assist and Pau Gasol finished with 30 pts and 15 rebs.

Andre Drummond (33 pts 21 rebs) and Reggie “Schmurda” Jackson (31 pts 13 ast) were UNSTOPPABLE and had the two man game working. Marcus Morris (20 pts 7 rebs) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (17 pts 7 rebs) both hit big shots down the stretch for the Pistons.

The Bulls let this one get away and the Mayor could’ve made a couple of adjustments. I’m not sure how/where Joakim got lost in the shuffle.

As for McDermott, I’m not sure he recovered from that #HellOnEarth Schmurda gave him but they could’ve used him to stretch the floor. (he was only 1 for 3) Tony and Niko shot a combined 2 for 13. Taj played well with 14 pts & 12 rebs. Someway/somehow they have to find a way to guard the pick n roll…it’s getting ridiculous.

And oh yeah….#FreeBobbyPortis!

I guess this is all part of what rookie coaches go through…you live and learn and come back to fight the next day. The guys played a lot of minutes tonight…let’s see how they adjust with the quick turnaround in New York vs the Knicks tomorrow night.

*Rose, Butler & Gasol….1st time since Dec 17, 1996 vs the Lakers that 3 Bulls players scored 30 pts in the same game. (Jordan, Pippen, Kukoc)
