Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed is a talented visionary who understands that crime prevention and lowering adolescent delinquency begins years before the crimes and delinquent behavior ever begins. This is why Reed has reiterated the paramount importance of formulating lasting public-private partnerships to develop community spaces where the youth can expend positive energy. This is why the city’s CEO has followed through on his pledge to reopen and/or revitalize most of the city’s parks and rec centers.

The latest completed project that helps manifests his campaign promises is the new skate park at Arthur Langford Jr. Recreation Center.

During his administration’s two terms, Reed has worked diligently with Parks and Recreation Commissioner Amy Phuong to open and beautify the parks. At this latest endeavor, Reed and first lady Sarah-Elizabeth Reed, along with members of the Langford family and community leaders, cut the ribbon on a new skate park at Arthur Langford Jr. Recreation Center on December 11, 2015.
