On Friday, February 20, Doug Shipman, CEO of the National Center for Civil and Human rights kicked off the 2015 Speaker Series for the Chick-fil-A Foundation.  The discussion was facilitated by Clark Dean, managing director for Transwestern and it captivated the audience.  Mr. Shipman spoke about finally realizing the dream of so many to open the Center and watching as multiple generations of families tour it.  It’s an experience that often sparks a conversation about their own family’s civil rights history.

Another very exciting moment came when the Chick-fil-A Foundation presented Mr. Shipman with a $25,000 donation to the Center.  He was not expecting it so the reaction was moving and genuine.
