The Alabama pastor who sexed down his female parishioners despite having HIV and AIDS — in addition to using drugs and misappropriated church funds — has been barred from the church, the media reports.
Juan McFarland has been banned from Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Montgomery, Ala., because he refused to step down after he was fired..
Moreover, church deacons have filed suit against McFarland because he had the intestinal fortitude to change the locks on the church and kept church members out of the church bank account — and then one of his supporters threatened to shoot them.
Judge Charles Price of Alabama’s 15th Judicial Circuit Court ruled for the deacons after a Thursday hearing and ordered McFarland, 47, to turn over the church keys, return the church owned Mercedes and relinquish the church bank accounts by the end of the day, the New York Daily News reports.
Church members rejoiced after getting the news.
“Now we’ve got the church back, and the healing can begin,” said Lois Caffey, a member for 21 years.
The judge scheduled a hearing Dec. 1 to decide whether to issue a permanent injunction.
Lee Sanford, chairman of the board of trustees, is to turn the 170 active membership into a unified force in the coming weeks. “I’m confident with God’s help we will be able to do that,” he said.
McFarland was present at the hearing but did not speak.
