Bobby Ferguson is scheduled to be sentenced today at 10 a.m. before U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds.

Ferguson is co-defendant in the public corruption case in which former Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was sentenced to 28-years in prison on Thursday. Ferguson faces sentencing for his conviction of 9 counts of public corruption.

Federal prosecutors debated that Ferguson should receive a similar sentence as Kilpatrick, citing that his actions were just as damaging to the citizens of Detroit. Ferguson’s attorneys have stated that he should be sentenced to no more than 10 years.
