On Saturday, June 22, 2013 thousands of people poured into Detroit to march on Woodward commemorating the 50th anniversary of one that took place in 1963 with Martin Luther King Jr. The civil rights icon visited Detroit on June 23, 1963, to lead at least 125,000 people in a freedom walk. King also previewed his “I Have a Dream” speech.
