Van Jones, president and co-founder of Rebuild the Dream, a platform for bottom-up, people-powered innovations to help fix the U.S. economy, will be in Chicago on Tuesday, December 4th for a special event and fundraiser that is a follow-up to the Prince Concert in Chicago this September. The event will be held from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the South Loop. For information visit http://www.rebuild.actionkit.com/donate/chicago/ .

Rebuild the Dream is already more than 600,000 people strong, with members living in every community across the country, committed to defending, reinventing, and advancing the American Dream. Rebuild the Dream uses 21st century digital technology, grassroots organizing, and artistic expression to advance solutions that can put America back to work and pull America back together. The Prince Concert exposed all the concertgoers to the Rebuild the Dream Village, where local Chicago organizations shared their vision for America.

“Chicago is the heart of America”, says Jones who is also a regular contributor to CNN. “There are great organizations here offering workable solutions our common American problems and we want to share what’s being done here with other cities”. They are partnering with over twenty community organizations to bring their vision to life.
