Johnson Publishing Company, publisher of EBONY and JET magazines and the owner of Fashion Fair Cosmetics, is opening its historic photo archive to the public.
The “Ebony Collection”, curated by Chairman Linda Johnson Rice, features 2,000 exclusive images documenting over 70 years of Black experience in the United States.
“Since 1942, my family has captured history-making pictures and shared them with our readers. I am thrilled to share these legendary threads of history with the world,” says Rice.
Prints of historical people and events, captured by famous African American photographers, including Pulitzer Prize winner Moneta Sleet, will be sold for as little as $35. They come in a variety of sizes, frames and unique finishes. Images can be purchased at www.ebony.com/store.
