Daley said Wednesday the consolidations will mean that several positions can be eliminated.
The city will merge thewith the Mayor’s Office of Special Events. Neighborhood development efforts will be combined by consolidating the Departments of and Zongin and .
And the departments of General Services and Graphics will be consolidated.
This isn’t the first department consolidation in Chicago. In October of 2008 ten departments were combined into four new departments.
