SPRINGFIELD- Governor Rod Blagojevich and top legislative leaders are set to meet again in Chicago to talk about the state budget.

Blagojevich wants lawmakers to come up with another spending plan because he says the one lawmakers passed is unbalanced by $2 billion. The morning meeting comes amid revelations that House Speaker Michael Madigan is circulating a memo to legislative candidates about the possible impeachment of Blagojevich. The governor’s office fired back at Madigan, accusing him of trying to divert attention from disagreements he has with the governor and other leaders over the budget. It’s the second meeting on the budget. Madigan didn’t attend last week’s meeting. (AP) ______ Copyright 2008 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
