16-Year-Old Girl Among 5 Shot Overnight

At least five people were injured in shootings around Chicago Wednesday night, including a 16-year-old girl hit while sitting in the backseat of a car.

Police say the teen was in a car that pulled into a gas station at 42nd Street and Wentworth Avenue in the Fuller Park neighborhood about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday when a dark-colored SUV passed and opened fire, the Tribune reports.

The teen, struck in the buttocks, was taken to an area hospital and listed in good condition.

In Logan Square on the Northwest Side, a man standing on the sidewalk was injured in an apparent drive-by shooting in the 3000 block of West Fullerton Avenue around 11 p.m. He was treated at an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the back.
