*1844: Richard Theodore Greener was the first Black to graduate from Harvard University.

*1900: Underground Railroad conductor John Parker died.

*1910: Granville T. Woods, inventor, died.

*1927: Basketball team, the Harlem Globetrotters, was formed.

*1956: The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s home was bombed.
