Birthday Cake

Illinois State Representative, Andre Thapedi and several of his colleagues are sponsoring House Bill 4654 which seeks to designate August 4th as President’s Obama Birthday in Illinois. As Springfield gears up to receive President Obama, and his highly anticipated address to the Illinois state legislature, one thing is for sure; it’s a totally different Springfield than when President Obama was an Illinois State Senator.

In a highly symbolic move that will no doubt cement his legacy as the first real Black president of the United States. One question remains on the minds of Illinoisans. Once passed, who’s going to pay for the cake? Happy Birthday Mr. President!
