Frank Ski is returning to the station where he was king. But will he be able to retrieve his crown?
Frank Ski, who hosted the highest-rated urban morning radio show host before he abruptly left four years ago, has announced that he is returning to V-103.
Frank Ski had the top spot with the “Frank & Wanda Morning Show” for most of his 14 years in the prime-time slot, but he left a lengthy dispute over salary and especially over syndication.
Ski soon wen to Washington D.C. where he’s hosted the afternoon show on WHUR-FM of the past two years.

Frank returned to V-103 airwaves this morning alongside current morning show host, Ryan Cameron, to announce that he’s officially returning to the station tomorrow.
Just last week, Frank Ski posted the photo above as he stood next to a V-103 sign along with the announcement, “The word is out! Atlanta, I’m back!”

According to the AJC Radio TV blog, Ski will return to V-103 airwaves tomorrow (April 23) and will be on air Saturdays from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and Sundays from 7 p.m.-11 p.m.
“We’re excited about bringing Frank on,” said Rick Caffey, senior vice president and market manager for CBS Radio Atlanta.
“He’s an addition to an already deep lineup. Where most stations have prime time Monday through Friday, ours is really seven days a week and now we have another pillar of talent on Saturdays and Sundays.”
As V-103 listeners know, Ryan Cameron took over the morning show position and added Wanda Smith as his co-host.
Officials at the station shot down any speculation that Frank Ski will eventually return to the morning show slot where he dominated for more than a decade.
“We were very happy with our existing lineup. We love what Ryan (Cameron) and Wanda (Smith) have done in the morning and Big Tigger in the afternoon, so we had no space in that area. But we tried to find a creative way to make it happen,” they told the newspaper.
“What we’re looking at doing is that instead of just playing music, we’re now going to have a big personality (on the weekends). The whole V-103 family is excited to have Frank back.”
