Rainbow PUSH: 38th Annual Conference

Please join Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. as we welcome some of President Obama's Administration Cabinet members: Arne Duncan, Secretary of Education; Shaun Donovan, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development; along with TomVilsack, Secretary of Agriculture.

They will all be present for the Rainbow PUSH Coalition and Citizenship Education Fund Annual Convention.

Our theme this year, “A more perfect union: Targeted Stimulus, the Key to Reconstruction” speaks to the challenge of this era: confronting the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression and turning this crisis into new opportunity.

The convention will address our new civil rights agenda and put a renewed focus on education, health care, energy and the needs of working families and communities of color across the nation. Topics include: the economic stimulus, civil rights, labor, sports, business and infrastructure, international affairs, women and wealth; and the housing and foreclosure crisis. We call for a new industrial and manufacturing policy as we confront the devastating impact of the bankruptcies of Chrysler and GM.

Also highlighting the convention will be Congresswoman Barbara Lee, the Rev. Al Sharpton, NAACP President Ben Jealous, the Rev. Dr. Stephen J.Thurston, Bennett College President Dr. Julianne Malveaux and other civil rights, labor, education and religious leaders.
