NBA star Derrick Rose is showing the world just how committed he is to the game of basketball in a flashy new ad for Adidas.

Released on Tuesday, the TV spot — an ad for the company’s new line of “D Rose 4” shoes — shows the Chicago Bulls point guard flaunting his glitzy lifestyle before getting down to business on the basketball court.

“If you took away the money, if you took away the fame, the spotlight… What would you have left?” Rose says in a dramatic voiceover for the ad.

“Everything,” he concludes, after dunking a basketball.

The ad — which features cameos from a number of celebrities, including 2 Chainz and Common — may be timely in its release.

After tearing his ACL in the first game of the Eastern Conference playoffs in April 2012, the former MVP announced over the weekend that he’s finally ready to return to the basketball court. This comes a few months after the 24-year-old angered some fans by not playing in the post-season, despite being medically cleared by team doctors.

“I feel [like I’m] back,” Rose said after the Bulls’ first practice session Saturday, according to ESPN. “I got confidence in my knee. There’s no testing anymore. It’s me just going out there and playing hard and attacking.”

Praising the new Adidas ad, Bleacher Report’s Dan Carson said that the commercial serves as a good reminder of Rose’s dedication to the sport.

“Adidas and Rose show you all the other stuff — the byproducts of fame — then hit you with the realness: Rose is still all about the game. He might not have made his return when fans wanted him to, but he hasn’t lost the fire for the sport that brought him to this lifestyle,” he wrote.
