Chance the Rapper Performs live for fans at Spotify album release party for “The Big Day”

On Thursday, July 25, Spotify hosted Chance the Rapper’s album release party in Chicago, bringing over 500 of the Chi-town native’s fans together to celebrate his debut album, “The Big Day,” just hours before it officially drops.

Chance’s longtime friend DJ Vic Lloyd played for the crowd as they entered the Garfield Park Conservatory’s lush botanical gardens and were transformed to an alternative tropical universe. Specialty cocktails were served each named after the artist’s highly celebrated mixtapes.

Chance came out super-hyped as he hit the stage performing a teaser rendition of “Groceries” off the new album and the packed room of fans erupted. During the high energy set he performed songs from all three of his previously released mixtapes “10 Day,” “Acid Rap,” and “Coloring Book” including “All We Got,” “Favorite Song,” “No Problems,” “Brain Cells,” “Same Drugs,” and “Blessings.” When introducing his new song, “Do You Remember,” he thanked all his Chicago fans for being on this journey with him from the beginning. He spoke of the enormous work that went into “The Big Day” and that he was actually scared to play this new track for them. Encouraged by the roaring crowd, he performed the song live for the first-time ever on the Spotify stage.
