Let’s revisit my first tweet from last nights’s game versus the Pirates and I quote…

 

He more than made up for it as Russell made an amazing catch in the top of the 7th and also drove in 2 runs as the Cubs dodged a late comeback to beat the Pirates 6-5 and sweep the 3 game series.

Jason Hammel got back to form as he went 6 innings giving up 3 hits while striking out 6.

“I felt really confident but it was all about the defense today. We’re spoiled. These guys are very impressive. We now have 2 candidates for play of the year between Addy & Riz,” says Hammel (He is 9-1 with a 1.77 era in 13 starts at Wrigley this year).
