Melania Trump contaminated the first night of the Republican National Convention. She cheated. She plagiarized the enemy of her husband’s campaign, first lady Michelle Obama.

Melania Trump, husband of presumptive Republican nomionee Donald Trump, stole at least two passages Monday night at the RNC from the “hated” Michelle Obama’s speech, which Obama gave during the Democratic National Convention in 2008.

According to CNN:

Side-by-side comparisons of the transcripts show the text in Trump’s address following, nearly to the word, the first lady’s own from the first night of the Democratic convention in Denver nearly eight years ago.

The controversy quickly overshadowed the speech, which was to have been her introduction to voters. It focused on her immigration to the US and her love for her husband.

“In writing her beautiful speech, Melania’s team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking. Melania’s immigrant experience and love for America shone through in her speech, which made it such a success,” according to Jason Miller, the senior communications adviser.

Social media had Melania Trump for breakfast, ripping into the legal immigrant’s character and scrupulousness for obviously snatching passages from the despised first lady’s speech from eight years ago. Hours before giving the speech, Melaina Trump, with The Donald by her side, told “The Today Show” that she only needed to go over the speech once, that she sought out as little help on the speech as possible. So she took credit for the words the spilled from her mouth and polluted what was otherwise a rousing, successful evening for the Republican Party.

And social media let Melania Trump know what they thought of her, for stealing from Michelle Obama, who the Trump campaign has done it’s best to cast the husband, President Barack Obama, in the most negative light possible.

Take a look at some of the funniest and most provocative responses to Melania Trump’s massive faux pas of copying off of the enemy.
