An Oklahoma missionary who is accused of raping and molesting ten children at the Kenyan orphanage where he was working claims he was possessed by a demon named Luke, federal prosecutors say. In text messages released in court documents, 19-year-old Matthew Lane Durham talked to a friend about his supposed alter-ego: ‘Literally he takes me at night and there is nothing I can do to stop him. Prosecutors have alleged that Durham of Edmond engaged in sex acts with as many as ten children aged 4 to 10 – including one who is HIV positive – while volunteering at the Upendo Children’s Home near Nairobi from April to June 2014. Boko Haram Kills 100 As It Sets Fire to And Seizes Another Major Town
Extremist group Boko Haram has reportedly seized yet another major Nigerian town, killing at least 100 civilians in the process. Nigeria’s Daily Post reports that Gwoza, one of the most populated areas in the northeastern Borno State, was seized by the group at dawn, who came in using armored tanks and Toyota Hilux pickup trucks. Local news agency Sahara Reporters says that the attack began at dawn, and the town was under Boko Haram control by late morning. Nigerian soldiers were reportedly outmatched by what SR calls, worryingly, Boko Haram’s “increasingly sophisticated weaponry.” Read more.
