Melissa Antenucci was socializing with other mothers interested in gently used baby clothing when she discovered the secret group. Now she is on a mission to expose the childish and insensitive parents for “bullying babies,” some of whom are premature and disabled.

One mom wrote about a toddler’s picture, “Before I address this…It…I want to point out that it makes my heart happy that you have a Mean Girls tab in your computer. Good stuff. Now, # 1 is this a he or a she…You absolutely can not fix ugly. This is a God given example of such.”

Another mother chimed in, “An ugly baby thread. I have died and gone to heaven…why can’t you guys live near me so we can do this over cocktails?”

“The things that these mothers said were the most horrific things that I have ever seen, being a mom and knowing that they are moms,” Antenucci said.

Antenucci said that after one mother accidentally discovered the thread three weeks ago, she took screen shots of the postings and passed them on. Antenucci and others began copying and pasting the postings to shame the mean moms.

One mother of a toddler who was jeered at posted a picture of her as a newborn in the intensive care unit and wrote, “This is MY DAUGHTER that is being made fun of because she is delayed…so funny, huh? Sick (expletive).

Once the secret group began to receive publicity, many of the mothers deactivated their accounts. But one fired back, saying, “THIS IS FACEBOOK, NOT THE SALEM WITCH HUNT….THIS IS A FREE COUNTRY AND I WAS LAUGHING BECAUSE IT WAS FUNNY….THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS, NEXT.”
