WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama on Thursday will again urge Congress to stop interest rates on student loans from doubling on July 1.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama on Thursday will again urge Congress to stop interest rates on student loans from doubling on July 1.

If Congress doesn’t act, interest rates on new loans will double from 3.4 percent to 6.8 percent.

Before making his remarks at the White House, the president will meet with senior advisers and Vice President Joe Biden.
