Fresh off a whirlwind summer of national performances on BET’s 106 & Park, Avrey Smith has been in the studio grinding out his “No Apologies” mixtape and just released his new video, “Inked Up.”

Smith is one of Noivak Music’s artists, the brainchild of south suburban native Willie Taylor of the music group Day 26.

Knowing the pressures of the industry and realizing things don’t happen overnight for many, Taylor started the label — which is his son’s name Kavion spelled backwards — six years ago to give unsigned talent the opportunities that weren’t readily available to him as an up-and-coming artist.
