Gov. Pat Quinn says a new innovation program will help integrate young entrepreneurs into the Illinois economy and provide the backbone for an economic rebound.

CHICAGO (AP) — Gov. Pat Quinn says a new innovation program will help integrate young entrepreneurs into the Illinois economy and provide the backbone for an economic rebound.

The Chicago Democrat joined Groupon co-founder Brad Keywell and Priceline.com co-founder Scott Case on Friday to launch the Illinois Innovation Network. The network will connect entrepreneurs with financiers and other small business owners in efforts to bring ideas to market.

Keywell says entrepreneurship and the state’s economic situation bear the same message of learning from failures to produce a better product.

Quinn says the state has not fully recovered from the recession. He says young people between the ages of 25 and 30 with fledgling business concepts will help bring about that rebound.
