The sentencing hearing for a Chicago woman found guilty of killing the pregnant girlfriend of former Chicago Bears player Shaun Gayle has been postponed.

WAUKEGAN, Ill. (AP) — The sentencing hearing for a Chicago woman found guilty of killing the pregnant girlfriend of former Chicago Bears player Shaun Gayle has been postponed. Marni Yang was to be sentenced Friday by Lake County Circuit Associate Judge Christopher Stride after being found guilty last month of the Oct. 4, 2007 murder of Rhoni Reuter and Reuter’s unborn child. However, prosecutors say the hearing has been postponed. No reason was given. During her trial, prosecutors painted the 43-year-old Yang as jealous of Reuter’s relationship with Gayle, a member of the Bears 1985 Super Bowl team. Assistant State’s Attorney Patricia Fix says attorneys on both sides of the case are working to select a new date for the sentencing hearing. Copyright 2011 The Associated Press.
