The late Rev. Leonard Barr was laid to rest Tuesday following a homegoing service at Fellowship Missionary Baptist church that included a stirring serenade from The Barrett Sisters, a singing salute by Otis Clay and a moving eulogy by the Rev. Clay Evans.

Also speaking at the funeral were Dr. Damon Arnold, head of the state’s Department of Public Health, Circuit Court Clerk Dorothy Brown and WVAZ-102.7/FM (V103) personality Herb Kent.

Mourners packed the South Side church to say their final goodbyes to Barr, also a former radio personality and longtime Fellowship member, where he was ordained and “served until his last days.” Barr was known not only as a servant of God but also of the community.
