Jackson State places two on the women’s track and field all-academic team

Jackson, Miss. – Jackson State University’s Lisa Quinn and Raina Sanders were selected as members of the USTFCCCA 2009 Division I All-Academic Track and Field team.

Jackson, Miss. – Jackson State University’s Lisa Quinn and Raina Sanders were selected as members of the USTFCCCA 2009 Division I All-Academic Track and Field team.

Lisa Quinn, a native of Jackson, MS., competed four years on the JSU women’s track team. She was a member of the 4×100 meter relay team that qualified for the NCAA Regional Track meet. She was also a member of the 4×400 meter relay team.

Raina Sanders, a native of Greenville, MS., had great accomplishments in her freshman season. She was the 2009 SWAC Indoor Champion in the 400 meters and the SWAC Outdoor Champion in the 400 meters with a time of 54.30. Raina played a vital role in the women’s track team winning the outdoor championship. She qualified in three of four opening events and ran on two relays.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or the NCAA Division I Outdoor regional or national qualifying standard in their respective event.
