Dorinda Clark Cole, Smokie Norful, Calvin Bridges and Mark Hubbard were some of the many gospel celebrities on hand for the live recording of Vanessa Bell Armstrong.

The svelte EMI Gospel recording artist is looking fabulous and sounding great as she prepares for her next release in September. The project, which is produced by musical genius Donald Lawrence, features classic hits including "What He’s Done For Me," "Denied Stone" and "Peace Be Still."

Legendary gospel giant Rance Allen, teamed up with Armstrong for a duet in "You Bring Out The Best In Me," which features a fresh new school twist. Lawrence was asked by Armstrong to produce the recording and admits that he wanted to help the Detroit native make the project special.

“I’m a big Thomas Whitfield fan who produced her most popular CDs … He set the bar very high. … I’m just gonna try and make a great CD for Vanessa Bell 21st century,” he said. “My blue print is her vintage CD,” said Lawrence who also penned a breathtaking selection entitled, "The Greatest Power."

“I wrote a couple tunes, but I’m mainly producing/A&R duties,” he said. Meanwhile, his single "Back To Eden" is holding steady in the No. 2 position on the gospel charts.

In addition to his many hats, Lawrence is also the spokesman for "How Sweet the Sound Gospel Celebration." The deadline for registration is June 14.
