Pastor John Hannah and the New Life Covenant Oakwood congregation were singing praises on high as they moved into their new worship center.

On Sunday, Hannah, along with NLCO leaders, cut the ribbon on the door to their new church home at 1021 E. 78th Street, as a crowd of members watched and cheered.

After cutting the ribbon and officially opening the doors to their new church, the congregants filled the sanctuary for a spirited celebration and worship service.

The Tabernacle, as the church building is called, moves NLCO out of the King College Prep high school auditorium where it had been holding weekly services for the last three years, into a new home and a new community.

“We will be a beacon of hope,” Hannah said in a written statement.

Since the church started five years ago, it has reportedly grown to a membership of over 5,000.
