Attorneys have begun preparing for closing arguments in R. Kelly’s child pornography trial.
The judge says those crucial arguments from prosecutors and the singer’s lawyers will be heard Thursday morning. Kelly has pleaded not guilty to charges he videotaped himself having sex with an underage girl. Closing arguments will focus on the same evidence that’s been at the center of the month-long trial: the sex tape. Both Kelly and the alleged victim have denied they’re even on the video. Prosecutors have spent weeks trying to prove they are on it. Jurors have Wednesday off. They could starting deliberations on a verdict immediately after closing arguments. If they convict Kelly, he faces up to 15 years in prison. (AP) ______ Copyright 2008 Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
